So we all start somewhere. The bottom is very real. I was living in Atlanta trying to make my dream work. I knew I loved fashion and I was hustling to make it happen. I used to hang out in Little 5 Points in East Atlanta a lot. It reminded me of Berkeley, CA just on a very, very small scale. Anyway I would hang out at Vinnie’s Styles and argue about how Jay-Z is the best rapper ever and talk fashion. They taught me so much about street wear and men’s fashion during those convos that has extremely contributed to the knowledge that I have developed today.
I’m not completely sure how this opportunity came about to style this video, but I know the staff at Vinnies’ (shout out to Shaq and Ski) believed in me and helped me so much with the prep. It’s funny to look at the video now because it looks so dated and the clothes were so basic. But it is all about the principle. Even with the job being hard, having no help, and getting paid next to nothing ( I actually lost money) I felt most like myself and the most at home. When you are doing what you love being tired from working is so fulfilling. We all had to start somewhere. This was part of my start….
Kanye and Kim’s dream have finally come true. As we know Kanye has been saying that Kim deserves to be on the cover of Vogue and Anna needs to make it happen. Well, looks like Kanye got what he wanted and they are BOTH on the cover shot by Anne Leibovitz. If you head over to Vogue.com to see Kim and Yeezy in action and baby North (so cute!)
This was and still is my jam. I was scrolling my timeline a couple days ago and Kid Sister popped up courtesy of my fave @iso14below (go read her blog HERE). Anyway it reminded me of how much I was into her single pro nails featuring vintage Kanye West. The video and song could arguably be before its time, because the song slaps! Her hair, nail art, sweat suit jackets, and leggings are still on trend today (errbody got something that is represented in that video) Check out the video and twerk a lil something.
Get some inspiration…….
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great time over the holidays and got what they wanted for Christmas! So happy to be back on my routine and blogging. Last weekend me and @papidrinkswine were drinking and watching Mtv Jams (a favorite activity) We discovered this Strawberry Colada flavored vodka and gave Hennessy a break. Anyway, one of my favorite songs/videos of all time came on, and as I’m watching it I realized that Foxy Brown’s look is back in style! The cut out dress, the dark lipstick all relevant, so it made me want to write a blog about it. It’s also throwback Thursday (not a fan) so its fitting. Check out the video below and some looks I found that will work in pulling this off.
One of my fave songs on Beyonce’s album. Makes me want to put on something similar and twerk it for my imaginary boy toy. You have a boy toy? or girl you want to get something nice for and reap the benefits? Get this album.
My fave B-Side song from Beyonce. Her two disc Dvd is available on amazon today! Cop!
