What’s the Recipe Sis?!: The Morning After

Expressing creativity via cooking is not only a form of entertainment for me but also a method of self care for me. So using my imagination, being able to eat, and it look nice for me is a good time. Anyway I came up with this dish by using all the leftovers from taco night. I usually will make breakfast burritos or tacos with the left overs but one morning I really wanted to impress the person I was making breakfast for so I came up with this lovechild of a tostada, Mexican pizza from Taco Bell, chilaquiles, and a quesadilla. So here I give you…”The Morning After” inspired by all those things aforementioned as well as a track “Where are my panties” off one of my favorite albums that shall never be taken out of rotation ever “The Love Below”. Ok, I know y’all tired of me talking and you’re here for the steps. Keep in mind I’m just giving you technique and a loose guideline. You can literally customize this annyyyyyy way you want, make it vegan, make it vegetarian, make it with all the meat you want. Get Freaky, you know the vibes.

Cooking with your Future Baby Mama: Cod W/ Spicy Cajun Cream Sauce

I am what you would consider an intuitive cook. I only follow a recipe once just to understand the structure and then I like to innovate on it to make it my own. I am also big on flavor. Even a healthy dish can taste great if you season every step. Using JUST salt and pepper is not gonna cut it. Anyway, summer is coming and I have been trying to make healthy alternatives to dishes I love by being inspired by the flavor of that dish. Case in point Cajun alfredo pasta. I’m not fooling with pasta right now and tried to work with items I already had on hand to finesse a dish and satisfy my craving and boom. This is what came of it. When I graduated college many, moons ago (don’t ask how many moons ok!) As a gift my mom gave me a ” You’re a grown woman self care kit/Lesson”. She has always been on our heads (my sisters and I) about taking care of our skin. To the point that she will comment things like “I hope you have on sunscreen!” on a fire selfie posted to Facebook. Think I’m kidding? Exhibit A:

It’s Slides Season!
