Lusting After: Moschino

20131227-122037.jpgMan, I swear the closer it gets to my birthday, the more things I lust after. Some are hoop dreams, and I never expect anyone to buy most of this stuff for me. However, to buy for myself….YES! I have been in love with Moschino for a long time (since the 90’s) I have obsessed over that belt forever (among other items). I enjoy that their designs can be dressed up or down and make a statement on their own. No need to over accessorize or over dress with the bags, belts or clothing.

I think that having unique statement pieces can go a lonnnng way in a wardrobe. Just make sure that they are timeless to you and that you would want to wear them for years to come. Be a repeat offender of the items you love! Here are my faves.

Cooking is Stylish: Garlic Crab Shawty!

So along with fashion cooking is my other passion. Just like clothing my food has to look good as well as taste good. My mom once told me that cooking is 80% visual and that stuck with me forever. Pretty food is mandatory when I’m cooking. Anyway last night me and @PapiDrinksWine decided to make garlic crab a la Crustacean in San Francisco. Along with the crab we made roasted balsamic Brussels sprouts and smashed potatoes. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. We also paired it with a white wine that just took the meal into another dimension.

Here’s a pic and the recipes below!

Here is the crab recipe: I did add a little bit of white wine and old bay to the butter mixture. HERE

For the Brussels Sprouts: I followed the chopping instructions but instead of frying I roasted them in the oven with salt, pepper, and olive oil with chopped red onion. 350 degrees for 20 mins. Then tossed it with balsamic vinegar 1/3 cup (you can use red wine vinegar too) 2TBS of honey, fresh pepper, garlic powder. I really just improvised off of THIS recipe.

And for the Potatoes we really just winged it. Boiled them, added salt, pepper, a small bit of cheddar and milk. we also didn’t break the potatoes all the way down since we both like texture.

Try it out and tell me what you think. This is great when you want to show off for someone. Swag!

Current Must Have: A Hockey Jersey…

No. I don’t play hockey, and barely know the rules. I have been to games and my high school had a team so I’m educated a lil bit. Nevertheless, I NEED one in my life. The endless possibilities of outfits that I can come up with with just one hockey jersey. Le sigh. Jeans, leggings, on it’s own as a dress, shorts just so many! My choices are below.

Cop or Nah?: Legging Boots

415858_in_pp

Tamara Mellon is getting innovative by combining leggings, leather, and boots together. This is the “legging boot”; the idea was inspired by the thigh high boot. Mellon’s idea was to give the look of a thigh boot without the gap. So you can wear a long top or dress over it to give that look. They will cost you a smooth $1,995 if you are interested. I like the idea, however I like the sexy gap of skin between the boot and whatever you wear it with. I also like the idea. of this all in one idea. I wonder if other designers will swag jack the idea. Thoughts?
