Every time I am proud of a dish I randomly made here y’all go asking for a recipe that isn’t written. When will I learn? Probably never… Anyway. This is is more so focused on technique, which means it can be remixed any way you like with whatever you have on hand because that’s what I have been doing lately anyway. And I am really into one pot dishes because I AM TIRED of washing dishes. Anyway you are not here for all this your are here for what you asked for. A Recipe…peep below:
Expressing creativity via cooking is not only a form of entertainment for me but also a method of self care for me. So using my imagination, being able to eat, and it look nice for me is a good time. Anyway I came up with this dish by using all the leftovers from taco night. I usually will make breakfast burritos or tacos with the left overs but one morning I really wanted to impress the person I was making breakfast for so I came up with this lovechild of a tostada, Mexican pizza from Taco Bell, chilaquiles, and a quesadilla. So here I give you…”The Morning After” inspired by all those things aforementioned as well as a track “Where are my panties” off one of my favorite albums that shall never be taken out of rotation ever “The Love Below”. Ok, I know y’all tired of me talking and you’re here for the steps. Keep in mind I’m just giving you technique and a loose guideline. You can literally customize this annyyyyyy way you want, make it vegan, make it vegetarian, make it with all the meat you want. Get Freaky, you know the vibes.
I posted a quick video on my IG stories and in true fashion my dms got blown up for the recipe. Also in true fashion I had no recipe because I literally wing all my meals. I like to call myself an intuitive cook but that don’t help y’all at all. So since it’s the season of giving. I sat down and wrote out the recipe for you. I hope you enjoy it. Make it your own. If you don’t have crab use sausage, top it with bacon, use some sautéed mushrooms get freaky. This is basically a guideline for you to explore. Enjoy!
Happy New Year! It’s been a min but I am officially back with the jump off. And what’s a more perfect way to get things going than a healthy food post?!
I was doing my morning scroll of my Twitter feed and saw a post by Bon Apetit via Basically for a Gochujang and Sesame roasted Squash recipe and said “WELP that’s what’s for lunch today!” And I headed to the store and got to work. Continue reading →
So Kimchi is one of my favorite things. It’s spicy has some crunch and is VERY good for your body because it’s fermented (more info here). Anyway about a year ago I was scrolling through Twitter and I saw a recipe for kimchi udon. Continue reading →
During the week I try to cook everyday to save money and keep tabs on my glow up progress by paying attention to what I eat. With that being said, I also like to get my “Sandra Lee” on and try to finesse a pre made food item into something delicious, health conscious and fabulous. Continue reading →
Well……Monday is def doing is typical thing and acting like a Monday. So here’s some things to make the day better and change the tone for the week if you need it like I do!
Light Candles and Meditate. Meditation has become a staple in my life in keeping me focused and managing stress. I like to meditate before I go to bed to help set the tone for my sleep and the following day. However if you are having a day like mine you may want to go out to your car (if you’re at work) and take 5. I really like THIS 5 min guided meditation that helps align your chakras. I literally vibrate after I’m done and feel ready to face the rest of the day. If I am at home, I really enjoy lighting candles generally but I also like to light them while I am meditating. I am really into these candles from Angelic Rose Essentials. Not only are they beautiful to look at they smell amazing even after blowing them out. The Postiano and ocean drive scents are sure to help with dealing with the “Mondays”.
Well well whale! I am the most slack blogger on the planet. Real life really gets in the way and then I look up and it’s been over a month since I’ve posted. So here we are and I’m not even talking about fashion. As a self proclaimed food designer and a highly visual person. I just like things that looks good, Including my food. Yes, I plate my food like it being served in a restaurant. Yes, I only like serving my food on white plates because it looks better (and better for taking pics). To give you some background my mom used to own a restaurant and so did my uncle and they are both great chefs. My mother always taught me the importance of flavors, using quality ingredients, and that eating is 80% visual so it has to LOOK good. I’m sure my mom thinks that I don’t listen to her sometimes growing up but that lesson sure stuck with me. Continue reading →
Lately work has been so busy. By the time I get home to sit down and blog I am tired of looking at a monitor or do anything else for that matter like cook dinner. So I decided to try Plated, a subscription box program where you have your choice of meat fish or vegetarian recipes. That come with all the ingredients that you need and step-by-step instructions to cook them. Now if you follow my blog you already know that I am a self proclaimed chef. And enjoy cooking and making my own recipes very much. But sometimes I’m not inspired nor have the brainpower to come up with something to cook for dinner so for the last week or so. Plated has definitely saved the day. Continue reading →
In an effort to try to get back in my blogging swing (life has been kicking my ass). So my friend Randi is supporting my efforts to blog again and invited me over to her place for some inspiration. So let’s rewind, I have this big ass bottle of Tanqueray from my birthday party in January that I am determined to figure out how to make it drinkable. Continue reading →
