Who knew watching Anna Wintour answer 73 questions would be so fun?! Check out this cute video, and get a peek inside the Vogue Magazine offices.I feel like Anna is the distant Auntie whom I never get to see and never comes to family functions but my favorite. Shes so chic and classy.
I am a self proclaimed introvert until I have some Hennessy. Which is why on a sunny Sunday afternoon I saw Porsche while turning up at a day party and was able to talk to a then stranger. Her style was magnetic, you could tell just by looking at her that getting dressed for her was effortless. So of course she had to be the next installment in my “Locally Fresh” series. This time around I used “Ralph” and shot Porsche myself. I was also able to ask her some questions and talk style for a bit. Check out the interview below and get to know this “Chic Little Hippie” better.
I was doing my daily peruse through My Tumblr and came across this photo. I liked it. Reblogged it. And kept it moving. Then a lightbulb went off in my head. I started thinking about all the rules that people try to put on others when it comes to personal style. It’s called PERSONAL style for a reason. It’s yours, and what you do with it is your business. Anyway, one so called rule that annoys me is this not repeating outfits rule. The hell!? Most people must be ballin in these streets but for this full time student/employee/entrepreneur that’s not an option. I’ll repeat and remix something several times and don’t be surprised if you see it on Instagram several times as well. Continue reading
Because this GQ spread is the flyest thing in the month of August and it ain’t yeen August yet!
Mr. West is the latest baddie to grace the cover of one of my favorite publications. Shot by Patrick Demachelier, styled by Kanye. This spread feeds so deeply into my menswear loving side. All the looks are simple but super clean, fitted in the right places and PERFECT layering. I would wear every single look in this shoot and may try to copy some of these for the fall. Check out my favorites below and Shmoney dance over to GQ.com for the full spread. Continue reading
We have all at this point read or heard of the book “The Secret” (if not look it up!). In essence it’s about believing in what you want and putting the mental energy to visualizing that. I am a visual person so having things to visually represent or stimulate me really help with my creative side and putting things into action. So I like to create inspiration boards that I can look at in the morning to give me an internal energy boost. I also like craft supplies (haha) so this combo of creating these boards is right up my alley. The part I enjoy most of diving into the process when making these is the actual arranging and cutting, designing etc is super therapeutic for me. I also think about themes and ideas for different boards, so different boards serve different purposes. It’s like having a Tumblr but in real life. I recommend stretching your creativity and using those old magazines to drum up your own inspiration boards.
Do vision boards help you? How do you use them? Do you find them valuable? Comment Below!

I’ve never been one to seek out the spotlight or want to be front and center. Which is why I initially wanted to be a stylist. I enjoyed being behind the scenes and letting my work speak for me. I have always been that way; no matter how I may have looked or felt about myself my work was going to be thing that made me confident and made the trash talkers shut up. However in the age of the internet and social media, and being a blogger part of your brand is YOU. So naturally as you grow people want to interview you. A while back I had Lauren Hailey of MissLaurenHailey.com contact me to do an interview for her blog which included a photo shoot. I was so excited to do it but scared as hell. I have never ever been on that side of the camera before. I immediately thought A. WTF am I going to wear and B. I don’t know shit about “modeling” (I use the term model verrry loosely) Continue reading
This month I am still obsessed with my Tumblr and it is totally serving me when it comes to giving me motivation for my outfits. Naturally I am into texture, mixing prints, and masculine and feminine styles. I’m what you call an emotional dresser, so depending on my mood, or the music I’m listening to that is the look I go for. I also made a mood board, that I have hung in my room that I look at to motivate me when getting dressed too.
There has been a lot of life events that I have participated in over the past couple of weeks. Bridal Showers, Birthdays, and Wedding celebrations. So I’ve had to actually put on dress clothes and put down the sneakers. I actually enjoy dressing up when I have the opportunity, living in Oakland I feel like I don’t get to much because it’s so laid back( and I have the dressed down look waaaaay covered) I also have a photo shoot Sunday for a blog feature that I’m in. I am SO nervous about this, since I am always behind the scenes and a general goof troop when It comes to be a serious Model. Also having it only be one look, is a challenge because getting a feel for my style in one swoop is going to be hard for me to convey. Stay tuned for the pics from that! Let this mood board motivate you to flourish this weekend! Happy Friday!
The idea was to put two people together, give some guidelines, and let the magic happen. I had the pleasure to work with @MissJuan (Juan) and @ErkthaJerk (Erk) on this shoot. I came up with this idea on a whim curious to see what my results would be. I have always admired Juan’s personal style, it is always so effortless. She makes a fitted not look like a joke and I am always intrigued with the combination of her outfits. She really does just wake up like that…and it’s great. To shoot Juan I called on the multi talented Erk who does an amazing job of capturing the essence of a subject and not ruin it by airbrushing the hell out of the final photo. Our Sunday adventure was so much fun. We almost got hit by cars, hawked by strangers, and climbed on an old school truck. I am so proud to show you the sum of our work. Check out my interview with Juan after the drop!
