Pastries & Portraits II x Smile A Day
In an effort to challenge myself and push my personal growth I have been trying to participate in activities/experiences that make me uncomfortable. One of those acts is going to events alone. Historically if I see an event that I would like to attend, I will ask a friends go with me. If I can’t find anyone to be my guest I simply won’t go. Continue reading

Thirst Trappin All Summer: Pressed Juicery 3 Day Cleanse.

Photo Via PressedJuicery.com
Over the past year and a half I have been working on taking my health more seriously and getting my body in the best shape that it can be. During that time I’ve lost about 20lbs and a zillion inches. I try not to track that data too much because it can be stressful and discouraging. I don’t own a scale and only get weighed when I go get my B-12 shots (I’ll save that for another post.) Anyway with spring sliding through last week I thought this was a great time to give my body a restart and do a 3 day juice cleanse.
Unicorn Shawty On…..Dating (Part 1)

Before moving to Oakland, I was the girl who dressed up to go EVERYwhere. I dressed up to go to the Grocery store, to run errands, even sometimes to just chill in the house (just in case I got a call to hang outside the house. My motto was, “stay ready and you don’t have to get ready”. I lived by it.
Unicorn Shawty: On Cooking…
Well well whale! I am the most slack blogger on the planet. Real life really gets in the way and then I look up and it’s been over a month since I’ve posted. So here we are and I’m not even talking about fashion. As a self proclaimed food designer and a highly visual person. I just like things that looks good, Including my food. Yes, I plate my food like it being served in a restaurant. Yes, I only like serving my food on white plates because it looks better (and better for taking pics). To give you some background my mom used to own a restaurant and so did my uncle and they are both great chefs. My mother always taught me the importance of flavors, using quality ingredients, and that eating is 80% visual so it has to LOOK good. I’m sure my mom thinks that I don’t listen to her sometimes growing up but that lesson sure stuck with me. Continue reading
Cooking is Stylish: Plated
Lately work has been so busy. By the time I get home to sit down and blog I am tired of looking at a monitor or do anything else for that matter like cook dinner. So I decided to try Plated, a subscription box program where you have your choice of meat fish or vegetarian recipes. That come with all the ingredients that you need and step-by-step instructions to cook them. Now if you follow my blog you already know that I am a self proclaimed chef. And enjoy cooking and making my own recipes very much. But sometimes I’m not inspired nor have the brainpower to come up with something to cook for dinner so for the last week or so. Plated has definitely saved the day. Continue reading
Every Hour is Happy: Strawberry Gin Smash Cocktail…
In an effort to try to get back in my blogging swing (life has been kicking my ass). So my friend Randi is supporting my efforts to blog again and invited me over to her place for some inspiration. So let’s rewind, I have this big ass bottle of Tanqueray from my birthday party in January that I am determined to figure out how to make it drinkable. Continue reading
