Today I got paid…And then even though I wanted to buy some Nike Uptempos I paid bills instead. This is also a rent check .So let’s just say I’m going to have to get creative in the kitchen and in life to keep this party going. However that doesn’t mean I can move and shake in life even when things get tight. Part of keeping your eyes on the prize is having a positive mindset and attitude. To help me stay on track for a while now I have been listening to the teachings of Abraham Hicks who is the master teacher of the law of attraction. She is what the popular book “The Secret” was inspired by. If you haven’t read or watched the film please check it out. Continue reading
Today arguably the song that some people saved Vol. 3 turns 17. I distinctly remember when this song came out. I was a sophomore in highschool and very deep into my relationship with rap. Continue reading
Well……Monday is def doing is typical thing and acting like a Monday. So here’s some things to make the day better and change the tone for the week if you need it like I do!
- Light Candles and Meditate. Meditation has become a staple in my life in keeping me focused and managing stress. I like to meditate before I go to bed to help set the tone for my sleep and the following day. However if you are having a day like mine you may want to go out to your car (if you’re at work) and take 5. I really like THIS 5 min guided meditation that helps align your chakras. I literally vibrate after I’m done and feel ready to face the rest of the day. If I am at home, I really enjoy lighting candles generally but I also like to light them while I am meditating. I am really into these candles from Angelic Rose Essentials. Not only are they beautiful to look at they smell amazing even after blowing them out. The Postiano and ocean drive scents are sure to help with dealing with the “Mondays”.
This past week I took an adventure to the Oakland Museum which is conveniently located in my hood to check out the exhibit on Sneaker Culture. I was really excited about seeing this because I have had a long standing love affair with sneakers and streetwear. If you have been following my blog for a while that’s def obvious. Due to this longstanding love I had abnormally high expectations for my trip. However It was low-key disappointing once I started my walk through the exhibit. I would say at best that this exhibit is for the occasional sneaker head who has a 101 knowledge of sneaker culture. Albeit there were some highlights like the Obama Air force 1 and every single Jordan ever made, but other than that it was like walking through a shoe store.
This is what I look like when I’m getting ready to go out…or stay in…..Bey has been watching me and my friends.
I am a slacker….At least this week I am. I apologize for the lack of posts. However having a full time job and family responsibilities get in the way sometimes and blogging on an iPhone isn’t the easiest. I know you don’t care about these struggles so moving on.
This month I have been seeing a lot of trends in my life. Things that I just am so excited about and keep returning to because they are just THAT great to me. So I decided to share them with you. Some are fashion related some are not, but still get me excited in the same way fashion does.Ill keep everything brief because I know people don’t like to read. So here it goes: Continue reading
These days it feels like I barely have time to actually sit down and watch a movie or my favorite TV show. I had some free time Friday evening and decided go to into the list of things I have been meaning to watch and chose the documentary “Mademoiselle C”. If you are unfamiliar, this is a documentary about the former editor of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld. The film follows her journey of creating her own magazine now titled C.R. FashionBook.
