So along with fashion cooking is my other passion. Just like clothing my food has to look good as well as taste good. My mom once told me that cooking is 80% visual and that stuck with me forever. Pretty food is mandatory when I’m cooking. Anyway last night me and @PapiDrinksWine decided to make garlic crab a la Crustacean in San Francisco. Along with the crab we made roasted balsamic Brussels sprouts and smashed potatoes. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. We also paired it with a white wine that just took the meal into another dimension.
Here’s a pic and the recipes below!
Here is the crab recipe: I did add a little bit of white wine and old bay to the butter mixture. HERE
For the Brussels Sprouts: I followed the chopping instructions but instead of frying I roasted them in the oven with salt, pepper, and olive oil with chopped red onion. 350 degrees for 20 mins. Then tossed it with balsamic vinegar 1/3 cup (you can use red wine vinegar too) 2TBS of honey, fresh pepper, garlic powder. I really just improvised off of THIS recipe.
And for the Potatoes we really just winged it. Boiled them, added salt, pepper, a small bit of cheddar and milk. we also didn’t break the potatoes all the way down since we both like texture.
Try it out and tell me what you think. This is great when you want to show off for someone. Swag!
