Special Delivery: Melody Ehsani x Reebok Omni Pump

20140207-180313.jpg

After refreshing my browser a million times last weekend my shoes came. I’m excited. They are so comfy and I got some nail wraps to match! The attention to detail down to the tape on the outside of the box. Is what sets Melody Ehsani apart from many designers out. I can’t wait to rock these (which will probably won’t be for a while) however when I do there will be an outfit post for sure. For now take a look!

Dress Like You Listen To Sinatra…….

20140205-211011.jpg

Suits……Suits….Suits! Street wear is cool. I love it. I feel like it is necessary to have balance in your closet. You have to have clothing for every occasion that means dressing up too. I was talking to a friend who is super into suits and really knows how to spot great ones and we discussed how too many men don’t have a go to suit in their closet for those moments when they have to get formal. At least have a blue or black joint for starters and then when you get your tax money get a tux. In addition learn how to tie a tie. There are several You Tube videos (if you are a visual learner) that will get you right.

Anyway I love using elements of men’s clothing when I dress because it adds the perfect amount of edge to mix with soft lady like elements. I eventually want to find a great men’s suit I can tailor and swag out. Anyway take a look at some great inspiration pics to guide you in the right direction and then mosey on over to MrPorter.com to get motivated. More to come on this subject soon…..

In The Fly Corner: Le Specs

20140204-180138.jpg

I really like sunglasses but I don’t invest in them too much because I will either lose them or break them. I wish I were more responsible but I’m not when it comes to eye wear. I was browsing Net-A-Porter ( my fave site in THE whole wife world) I stumbled across these cute and affordable Australian based eye wear line called Le Specs. I have an affinity for Australian based designers so I’m not surprised that I got that “gotta have it” butterfly feeling in my stomach. They range from $55-$90. I’m a fan. They are distinct and funky. These are my top picks.

Must Cop: Peter Pilotto for Target

20140203-184419.jpg

I saw the news that this was coming and some of you have probably already marked your calendars for February 9th. So I’m semi late…..but this Peter Pilotto collection for Target is my bag! I’m a sucker for a great print. I enjoy mixing prints, textures, colors whenever appropriate and possible. So when I finally got to take a look at the look book for the collection ( insert emoji heart eyes here) I can appreciate that even though the collection is print and color heavy I can mix pieces together and it will looks easy and effortless (very Solange Knowles). If you are just as excited as I am. You can purchase this collection at Target or my favorite store in THE ENTIRE WORLD Net-A-Porter when it drops. Check my faves below.

I’ve Been Workin, I’ve Been Workin…..

So I’ve been slacking on blogging. Which is not cool. But I’ve been busy! I had the opportunity to style a photo shoot for one of my favorite brands Marshall Nash. It’s always a good time on set when working with JaEvon and she always casts cool models to work with. The vision was inspired by the movie “The Lost Boys” mixed with girly elements. Bringing these two ideas together and making it modern was a fun challenge to take on. I can’t wait to share the final edits with you guys. I always get super proud and excited to show work that I was apart if and see how a group of people contribute to an end result. Check out some behind the scenes below!

Super Saturday: Adventures in San Francisco!

20140119-154028.jpg

I live in Oakland, which is a hop, skip, and a jump away from San Francisco. So on Saturday I decided to hit up some boutiques that I have on a running lonnnnnng list of places I wanted to check out. You can also check out a real deal account of what the day was like at www.PapiDrinksWine.Tumblr.com.

My first stop was a mens boutique called Nomads located on 556 Hayes St in whats considered the Hayes Valley area. The store is a good size for a boutique intimate but enough room for you to move around and explore comfortably. Nomad carries a diverse selections of brands like Fred Perry, Oliver Spencer, and SLVDR. The price point was between $30-$150 (NOT BAD!)  Great joggers, denim, t-shirt and button down selection as well. I was for sure eyeballing some items for myself. The number one thing that caught my eye was this Sade t-shirt by the brand White Label Cartel. It was only $30 which is not bad for a unique tee that no one will have.

Next stop was totally not fashion related but just as fun. I stumbled upon this bar owned by two sisters dubbes just that “2 Sisters Bar & Books”. Stopped and had a glass of wine (or two) and chatted with the owners. Found out they had mixology classes on Monday you can find our more HERE. Check out their story and mission below!

Next up a couple stores down I stumbled across one of my absolute favorite furniture and interior design stores called Roomservice. Hollywood Regency style is luxe and funky at the same time. I want my ENTIRE house to be designed in this way. I definitely had a  fantasy sequence going on in my head as I browsed the store. One day my house will be totally decked out in stuff from here. (le sigh)

Also located on Hayes St. is a shoe store called Undefeated. This was perhaps the highlight of my day yesterday (besides the drinking). They carry New Balance, Adidas, Nike, Jordans etc. The staff was super cool and engaging, which I like when coming into a store (don’t stare me down and make me uncomfortable I’ll take my money and leave). Anyway my come up for the day was a pair of Jordan slate 10’s IN MY SIZE FOR REGULAR price. WIN-NING!!! Now I may be eating pesto tuna and crackers for lunch all week…..But I got them Jay’s THO! lol. That purchase was meant to be and I smooth walked up out of the store with them.

Over all it was a great day and it ended with me being tipsy with a new pair of shoes. Wiiiiiiiiiiin! I’m excited to hang out in San Francisco more. Holla!

The Billionaire Girls Finally Have A Club.

I am a fan of BBC. I always have been. And if you have been reading this blog long enough. You know that crew neck sweat shirts and hoodies are my thannnnnnng. You will always seem them on here as long as this blog exists. Anyway Billionaire Boys Club have added another branch to the brand with Billionaire Girls Club. You would think with how long BBC has been around this would have happened sooner. However I’m not complaining. I think it’s cute and simple. That price tag….$160……… Not so much. I still want all three though. If you are interested in copping. These hoodies are available on bbcicecream.com and at the New York flagship store. If you do get yourself one pick me up these three……or nah? #thanksinadvance

Riccardo Tisci x Nike

20140110-072902.jpg

I woke up this morning and did my usual. Checked all my social media (admit it you do too. It’s like the newspaper) I discovered on Instagram by CRFashionbook that Riccardo Tisci (of Givenchy if you live under a rock) Will be collaborating with Nike on a new shoe collection. This is exciting because Tisci takes great inspiration from streetwear and active wear lines. I hope it’s not only shoes and also going to be clothing because if it is, it might just be the most epic collection seen from Nike in a while. Not sure when this collection will be released but please believe I will be stalking the Internet until I find out.

Swag on a hundred thousand trillion.

Pay Homage to Young Fox: “I’ll Be” by Foxy Brown Ft Jay Z

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great time over the holidays and got what they wanted for Christmas! So happy to be back on my routine and blogging. Last weekend me and @papidrinkswine were drinking and watching Mtv Jams (a favorite activity) We discovered this Strawberry Colada flavored vodka and gave Hennessy a break. Anyway, one of my favorite songs/videos of all time came on, and as I’m watching it I realized that Foxy Brown’s look is back in style! The cut out dress, the dark lipstick all relevant, so it made me want to write a blog about it. It’s also throwback Thursday (not a fan) so its fitting. Check out the video below and some looks I found that will work in pulling this off.
