Must Watch: “Mademoiselle C”

These days it feels like I barely have time to actually sit down and watch a movie or my favorite TV show.  I had some free time Friday evening and decided go to into the list of things I have been meaning to watch and chose the documentary “Mademoiselle C”. If you are unfamiliar, this is a documentary about the former editor of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld. The film follows her journey of creating her own magazine now titled C.R. FashionBook.

Watching this documentary was the best choice I made this whole weekend (if def ranks above the excessive amount of bottomless mimosas I had Sunday). Lately I have been feeling a bit uninspired to do blog posts, practice my photography, or work on personal projects. However watching Carine go through this process and still remain passionate even when challenges arise was truly a wake up call for me. She’s a risk taker, but also loving and very well respected by her peers at the same time. I was so impacted by her story, especially her strong sense of self. She knows who she is and is comfortable in her skin. As a woman I know that coming to that place of self confidence can be hard to do. So watching someone who has achieved this was truly motivating for me.
Even if you are not in fashion or the arts the general theme will help push you in whatever direction your dreams travel. Check it out and let me know what you think!
