Over the past year and a half I have been working on taking my health more seriously and getting my body in the best shape that it can be. During that time I’ve lost about 20lbs and a zillion inches. I try not to track that data too much because it can be stressful and discouraging. I don’t own a scale and only get weighed when I go get my B-12 shots (I’ll save that for another post.) Anyway with spring sliding through last week I thought this was a great time to give my body a restart and do a 3 day juice cleanse.

I decided to go with the pressed juicery’s 3 day cleanse 1 through a recommendation of a friend. This one is great for people who have never done a cleanse or athletes due to the high caloric content vs the other two cleanses they offer. You get 6 juices to drink throughout the day and then have the option to add on chlorophyll and aloe waters to drink during the day as well. I opted out because I already had both at home so I just made my own.
So I know you’re wondering…How was it?
My answer: Really good. The first day was the most challenging well, because it’s day one so your body goes through a little shock. However never felt like I was starving or had to eat. If I started getting that feeling I would just drink water or start a new juice a little earlier. I usually tried the space my juices out to be every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Towards the end of the day I was really fatigued, I even tried to go out later that night and it was a challenge to be social, I just wanted my bed. But mama I made it through day one.
Day Two and Three were a lot easier. Day two I had tons of energy the first half of the day. Even cleaned my whole apartment and ran errands, but it was Netflix and chill after that for the rest of the day. Same with Day Three, I went grocery shopping to prepare for the end of my cleanse and food for the week and all I wanted was fresh fruit and veggies. Everything I would normally gravitate towards I was not interested in. by the time it was dinner time I felt like I could’ve gone three more days (but I’m cool on that). I finished my fast with a Kale and Quinoa salad pack with red onion, jalapenos, carrots, asparagus, mushrooms, and cucumbers. When I tell you that was the best salad I’ve everrrrrrrr (probably because I hadn’t chewed anything in three days.) IT WAS GOOD.
Now that it’s over I am even more mindful of whats being put in my body, my skin is a bit glowier (yes skin!), and I feel motivated to treat my body better than I was even while on this fitness journey. I would def recommend giving a juice cleanse a try. I think 3 days is the perfect amount of time if you are a busy as me because I really didn’t interrupt my normal routine.
