In an effort to try to get back in my blogging swing (life has been kicking my ass). So my friend Randi is supporting my efforts to blog again and invited me over to her place for some inspiration. So let’s rewind, I have this big ass bottle of Tanqueray from my birthday party in January that I am determined to figure out how to make it drinkable. I don’t like Gin at allllll. It’s so harsh on my palette. However Pintrest saves the day once again! Here is a recipe for a non offensive tasting cocktail that is just in time for spring and drinking in public with your friends. I tried it out Friday night, and I must say I added more sugar and strawberries than the recipe asked for (so I suggest you do too). See recipe below!
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 lime wedge
3 fresh strawberries, 2 hulled and sliced and 1 reserved for garnish
3 ounces gin
Club soda
Fresh mint sprig, to garnish
In a tall glass, combine the sugar and a squeeze of juice from the lime wedge. Muddle with the back of a spoon to dissolve the sugar.
Add the sliced strawberries and lightly muddle.
Fill the glass with ice and add the gin. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with the last strawberry and a sprig of mint.
