Expressing creativity via cooking is not only a form of entertainment for me but also a method of self care for me. So using my imagination, being able to eat, and it look nice for me is a good time. Anyway I came up with this dish by using all the leftovers from taco night. I usually will make breakfast burritos or tacos with the left overs but one morning I really wanted to impress the person I was making breakfast for so I came up with this lovechild of a tostada, Mexican pizza from Taco Bell, chilaquiles, and a quesadilla. So here I give you…”The Morning After” inspired by all those things aforementioned as well as a track “Where are my panties” off one of my favorite albums that shall never be taken out of rotation ever “The Love Below”. Ok, I know y’all tired of me talking and you’re here for the steps. Keep in mind I’m just giving you technique and a loose guideline. You can literally customize this annyyyyyy way you want, make it vegan, make it vegetarian, make it with all the meat you want. Get Freaky, you know the vibes.

It’s a Monday Post: Self Care Edition
This week we have a guest blogger @ARoseEssentials to give you some great tips on self care and making through your work week!
As I sit here at work, doing multiple jobs at once. Tired, over-worked, always striving and never having a true ‘day off’, I realize just how important it is to practice self-care. Besides work, we have other obligations and responsibilities that take up our time and may leave us with little time to for self-care. Before you know it, you’re having a breakdown out of the blue. The human body is so well-equipped that it sends you signals that you need to take time for yourself. It may come in the form of a breakdown or an illness that forces you to stay put for a while so that you can heal and rest. Well, you shouldn’t run yourself into the ground and wait to breakdown before you start to focus on self-care. Here are a few (FREE!) things you can do to keep yourself centered, balanced, focused and most importantly, healthy.
- Writing: Please never underestimate how therapeutic it is to write down how you’re feeling. It can be a plain notebook or a beautifully packaged journal (I just purchased a hand-made moleskin journal wrapped in marbled paper from @_papel_ on instagram). I prefer nice journals because they’re inviting and makes you open up to scribe. There isn’t a certain method or writing guideline you have to follow. Just write what is on your heart. Whether you’re frustrated or happy, pencil it all in. I also use my journal to manifest what I need out of life. In my current journal, the very first page I wrote down a few things that I wanted to achieve. An exact year later, those goals came to life. That’s also another benefit to journaling. You go back and read prior entries for self-reflection. You have the ability to evaluate your growth and how you’re progressing. So pick up a journal and write your first entry today!

RiRi x Puma…
Rihanna is making major moves today, she signed her contact with Puma to be their global brand ambassador and creative director. Talk about cut the check. I think this is a great move for Puma, it provides them the opportunity to appeal to a different market and opens them up for a totally new fanbase. Continue reading
Follow Rules….For What?
I was doing my daily peruse through My Tumblr and came across this photo. I liked it. Reblogged it. And kept it moving. Then a lightbulb went off in my head. I started thinking about all the rules that people try to put on others when it comes to personal style. It’s called PERSONAL style for a reason. It’s yours, and what you do with it is your business. Anyway, one so called rule that annoys me is this not repeating outfits rule. The hell!? Most people must be ballin in these streets but for this full time student/employee/entrepreneur that’s not an option. I’ll repeat and remix something several times and don’t be surprised if you see it on Instagram several times as well. Continue reading
