Get to Manifesting…Money!

Today I got paid…And then even though I wanted to buy some Nike Uptempos I paid bills instead. This is also a rent check :-/ .So let’s just say I’m going to have to get creative in the kitchen and in life to keep this party going. However that doesn’t mean I can move and shake in life even when things get tight. Part of keeping your eyes on the prize is having a positive mindset and attitude. To help me stay on track  for a while now I have been listening to the teachings of Abraham Hicks who is the master teacher of the law of attraction. She is what the popular book “The Secret” was inspired by. If you haven’t read or watched the film please check it out.   Continue reading

Happy Monday?

Well……Monday is def doing is typical thing and acting like a Monday. So here’s some things to make the day better and change the tone for the week if you need it like I do!

  1. Light Candles and Meditate. Meditation has become a staple in my life in keeping me focused and managing stress. I like to meditate before I go to bed to help set the tone for my sleep and the following day. However if you are having a day like mine you may want to go out to your car (if you’re at work) and take 5. I really like THIS 5 min guided meditation that helps align your chakras. I literally vibrate after I’m done  and feel ready to face the rest of the day. If I am at home, I really enjoy lighting candles generally but I also like to light them while I am meditating. I am really into these candles from Angelic Rose Essentials. Not only are they beautiful to look at they smell amazing even after blowing them out. The Postiano and ocean drive scents are sure to help with dealing with the “Mondays”.fullsizerender_33__62045-1485141747-500-659

Thirst Trappin All Summer: Pressed Juicery 3 Day Cleanse.

Over the past year and a half I have been working on taking my health more seriously and getting my body in the best shape that it can be. During that time I’ve lost about 20lbs and a zillion inches. I try not to track that data too much because it can be stressful and discouraging. I don’t own a scale and only get weighed when I go get my B-12 shots (I’ll save that for another post.) Anyway with spring sliding through last week I thought this was a great time to give my body a restart and do a 3 day juice cleanse.

The Glow Up: Face Cleanser I’m Loving

I really REALLY love skin care, I am for sure the person who will try just about any mask, cream, or treatment if made available (and affordably to me). I have had clear skin for the majority of my life up until last year. The universe hated on me and out of no where I had acne. Acne all.over.my.face. At first I thought it was a random breakout. So I would pop pimples (big nono) and try to treat my condition myself (no no again). Things kept getting worse and I finally went to the doctor to get help. I was prescribed Ethromycin and Retin-A and because of those two combinations had to ditch my Peter Thomas Roth cleanser and opt for something that suited my new routine.

Out The Box: The Rise Of Sneaker Culture

This past week I took an adventure to the Oakland Museum which is conveniently located in my hood to check out the exhibit on Sneaker Culture. I was really excited about seeing this because I have had a long standing love affair with sneakers and streetwear.  If you have been following my blog for a while that’s def obvious. Due to this longstanding love I had abnormally high expectations for my trip. However It was low-key disappointing once I started my walk through the exhibit. I would say at best that this exhibit is for the occasional sneaker head who has a 101 knowledge of sneaker culture. Albeit there were some highlights like the Obama Air force 1 and every single Jordan ever made, but other than that it was like walking through a shoe store.

Adventure Time: Portland, OR

For the last couple of years the Fall season has turned into adventure time for me. Last year in August I made a resolution to go on a trip once a month until the end of the year to spend time with friends and family. I ended up accomplishing that goal and it was so rewarding  to see that through. This year I wanted to take a short trip alone to a city I have never been to and just explore it. Thanks to being on Virgin Americas email list I cheap trip to Portland, OR fell into my lap. I have always wanted to go and had a couple friends from there but really knew nothing about this beautiful city. I  heard and read a lot about Portland, especially as a life long foodie, this was one place that was mandatory to eat my way through and that’s exactly what I did. Continue reading
